Our mission at LiveReal - in part -
is to help some folks out
- and to earn about $20 billion dollars.

How?  - at least, the part about the $20 billion dollars?

How are we planning to accomplish that?

Well, to answer that, we had to do some homework:

· The U.S. spent $75 billion to treat obesity in 2003 (Center of Disease Control and Prevention)

· “Mental Illness: A Rising Workplace Cost.‘ One form, depression, takes a $70 Billion toll annually... yet most employers don’t have a clue.” (Wall Street Journal June 13th, 2001)

· "We estimate (that stress) costs American industry $300 billion a year in terms of diminished productivity, employee turnover and insurance . . ." (Dr. Paul Rosch, President, The American Institute of Stress), and “60-90% of physician visits are related to stress...” (Tracy Gaudet, M.D., Duke University Center for Integrative Medicine)

· The economic cost of alcohol and drug abuse is estimated at $246 billion in the United States alone. (National Institute of Health)

· The economic costs of anxiety disorders are over $65 billion per year (Dorothy P. Rice, Ph.D., and Leonard S. Miler, Ph.D., Update of the Costs of Mental Illness in the United States, 1997)

- and to boot, these things may well be getting worse:

· “U.N. Sees Rise in Mental Health Disorders in Coming Decades: Mental and neurological disorders . . . strike 400 million people globally and are set to surge in the next two decades, the World Health Organization said..." (Reuters, January 11th, 2001)

We could definitely keep going with more like this . . . but we figure that's enough to make our point.

The total amount of the above is $756 billion fresh, crisp, green one-dollar bills.

And as good old Benny Franklin said, "A penny saved is a penny earned."

Now, let's do some more homework:

We're lookin' for answers.
And we mean business.

· Let's cut that figure in half, because a lot of the time, statistics are just pretty phony, and we're trying to avoid phoniness.  (Current amount:  $378 billion)

· Let's cut our new figure in half again, because even as good as we are, we aren't going to completely and utterly eliminate the above problems we mentioned forever. Yes, we may have a dramatically significant impact, but realistically, these problems probably won't be reduced to absolute zero anytime soon, no matter how good LiveReal is.  (Current amount: $189 billion)

· Let's subtract $10 billion, because some of the folks who use money for stress are also obese, depressed, drug-addicted, and anxiety-ridden. In other words, they overlap.  (Current amount:  $179 billion)

· Let's cut this figure in half again, because not everyone is going to hear about LiveReal anytime soon because they're too busy watching Celebrities Gone Bad and When Animals Attack and so on, and we don't have any money to run commercials.  (Current amount:  $89.5 billion)

· Let's cut this figure in half again, because of the folks who visit LiveReal, only a few will "get it" at all, and out of those few who even "get it," very few of them will ever put it into practice. (Current amount:  $44.75 billion)

· LiveReal Operating Expenses and LiveReal Agent/LiveReal Editor's annual salaries: $80,000 (Current amount:  $44,000,920.00)

· Who are we kidding? The vast majority of independent and creative thinkers who are outside of The System/who don't work for The Man are never recognized, appreciated, or profitable until they're dead. (Examples:  Socrates, Kafka, Nietzsche, Gandhi, Jesus, Lao-Tzu, Thoreau, Cantor, Melville, etc, etc, etc.  Add that $80,000 back in. (Current amount:  $44.75 billion)

· Cut this figure in half again, because people are so damn afraid of the unknown - and LiveReal is "unknown" to them - that they'll do anything they can to not give any of it a fair shake. (Current amount:  approx  $22 billion)

· Round it down again, just to be magnificently, stupifyingly conservative. Final Amount: $20 billion.

$20 Billion in cash saved, and therefore, earned.

So now the question becomes, of course,
how do we plan to accomplish this?
