Childhood Conditioning
Breaking Free From the Past
".
. . in adult life,
people generally tend to relive
rather than live . . ."
- Robert Firestone, Ph.D. and Joyce Catlett
. . . OK, so maybe we've arrived at a point where we want to become "free" of our own "conditioning."
This might really make sense - after all, many folks state that everything from addictions, depression, and panic attacks to marriage problems, spiritual problems, and just general neurosis and unhappiness are strongly connected to events and experiences that have taken place in the past. It's often said to be the primary cause of the hypnosis of life - or sleepwalking through life . . . or quite possibly, these past experiences might simply have a powerful influence over us.
So, how do we do it?
The most popular route (outside of pills, a route which ignores the influence of past events) is therapy.
But for reasons we delve into here ("Does Therapy Work?"), we believe that therapy can be a very risky option. Good therapists do exist, occasionally, and some therapists might even be able to help folks overcome their childhood conditioning in ways . . . but right now, in our opinion, unfortunately . . . they probably won't.
There are many reasons for this, from the time and expense to using the wrong techniques and tools - using hammer to dig holes - but the main question now becomes this: If therapy doesn't normally work, what is the alternative?
This is something we have seriously been working on for some time now.
And we've made some discoveries
that we believe are very, very interesting.
