Prevention Therapy:

The Best Cure For Insanity?

Don't Go Crazy To Start With

Psychotherapy and a great deal of modern psychology was born out of taking a "client" - Anno O - and trying to make her better again.

In a similar vein, doctors take sick patients, and make them well again.

Very little comparative emphasis has been given on how not to get sick to start with, or how not to go insane to start with.

This is the heart of Prevention Therapy, a stroke of genius behind the masterminds of LiveReal.com:  a great deal of suffering can be avoided, if you know how.  Prevention Therapy is about know how.

    Anna O Revisited

Back in early 1900's, when the field of psychology was still wearing diapers and bootees, a man named Dr. Freud got involved with the case of a woman named Anna O.

This was arguably the birthplace of modern psychological practices:  talking it out, dream analysis, the theory of the subconscious and repression, defense mechanisms, and so on - it was invented to help cure Anna O.

    LiveReal asks a different question:

what possibly could Anna have done differently to prevent herself from getting sick to start with?

THAT is where LiveReal comes in.  Anna O had all the best intentions in the world:  she was helping her father.  She was trying to be unselfish, caring, devoted, etc.

In other words, modern psychology (medical practices as well) helps only after the fact.  You get sick, they swoop in to make you better.

Of course, Prevention Therapy, were it to take effect, would lessen the massive influx of money to doctors, psychologists, drug companies, and other experts.  They get paychecks when you get sick, and they make you well again.  If you get sick less often, their wallets then grow more thin.

Of course, they will be more than happy about that, because healthy patients, not fat paychecks, is what really matters, right?
