Anxiety
as "inner conflict"
Some perspectives speak about anxiety as a kind of unpleasant inner heat that is created by inner conflict, or produced by the friction when you are "not yourself." This is perhaps due to a kind of built-in "dual condition" or dilemma inherent in human nature (for more on this, see The Butterfly's Dream by Albert Low).
This type of perspective is reflected in certain phrases:
Anxiety as being
"out of harmony with your 'conscience'"
This perspective states that anxiety comes in the wake of
experiences or conditions which seemed to separate you
from your "inner self," or "higher self," or conscience.
One perspective on "morality" is that it means
living in such a way that heals, and does not generate, inner conflict.
If anything like this is the case, then the problem becomes,
how to get back "in harmony" with your conscience?
One way is to "be still" or to practice meditation.
This is similar to . . .
Anxiety as
"separation from yourself"
If "being separated from yourself" is the case,
then the problem becomes,
how to "re-connect" with yourself?
One way is to "be still" or practice meditation.
